All 3 leaflets on short and equal petiolules. Occasionally central petiolule longer. Plants not stoloniferous. Stems with soft hairs. Leaflet with lateral veins obscure and at right angle to mid vein. Stipels not prominent. Leaflets of upper leaves linear oblong, lanceolate to narrow elliptic, the lower leaves usually broader and shorter. Leaflets sparse to moderately hairy on upper surface sometimes glabrous. Racemes to 21 cm long, flowers usually mauve. Widespread in many situations. Fl. most of the year
