Most of the axis in the upper half of the inflorescence hidden by the appressed branches. Leaf blades up to 35 cm long and up to 3 mm wide, often ciliate on the margin. Inflorescence spike-like with the axis visible between the appressed branches in the lower half, up to 30 cm long. Spikelets 1.5–2.3 mm long. Fruit c. half the length of the spikelet.
