Sporobolus elongatus R.Br.

Most of the axis in the upper half of the inflorescence hidden by the appressed branches. Leaf blades up to 35 cm long and up to 3 mm wide, often ciliate on the margin. Inflorescence spike-like with the axis visible between the appressed branches in the lower half, up to 30 cm long. Spikelets 1.5–2.3 mm long. Fruit c. half the length of the spikelet. Erect tufted perennial up to c. 1 m high. Widespread. Pastures and open woodlands. Fl. summer. Slender Rat’s Tail Grass
