Stems glabrous to slightly hairy. Leaves twice pinnatisect, upper surface ± glabrous, lower surface ± sparsely hairy, 10–15 cm long. Heads few to very many (50–200), in a terminal corymb. Involucre 5–7 mm long, bracts 8–10. Florets 15–25. Fruiting head 2.5 mm diam., involucre bracts ± reflexed. Cypselas 2 mm long, minutely granular. Pappus 4–5 mm long. Erect herb 1–2 m high. Widespread. Fl. most of the year Senecio bipinnatisectus
Stems sparsely to densely hairy. Leaves scabrous or hispid on both surfaces, 7–15 cm long. Heads few to many (50–200); in terminal corymbs. Involucre 4–6.5 mm long, bracts mostly 11–13. Florets 20–35. Fruiting head 3–4 mm diam., involucre bracts ± erect. Cypselas 1.5–2 mm long. Pappus 3–4 mm long. Erect herb to 1.5 m. Widespread in poorer soils.
