Leaves with decurrent margins, in prominent lines, linear, 2–8 mm long. Heads in dense terminal corymbs. Involucre 3–4 mm diam.; bracts obtuse, white or straw-coloured, without a spreading limb. Florets 10–12. Cypselas glabrous or papillose, less than 1 mm long. Pappus hairs few, 2 mm long. Heath-like shrub 1–2 m high. Leaves not decurrent, linear, mostly obtuse, 5–50 mm long (rarely 40 mm). Heads numerous in dense corymbs. Involucre 3 mm diam.; inner bracts with a white erect limb. Florets 6–14, white.
