Leaves conspicuously twisted or curled backwards towards the stem, 2–8 cm long (rarely longer), 1–2 mm wide, flat or concave, green or glaucous, with a few white shreds at the base or, more usually, none. Stems up to 50 cm long with the leaves arranged regularly and distichously along them. Male inflorescence a spike or small panicle of clusters. Female inflorescence smaller. Widespread. DSF.
