Leaves linear, rarely more than 1 cm long, up to 2 mm wide, obtuse or with recurved tips, revolute. Heads numerous in a long loose terminal panicle. Involucre cylindrical, often curved, 2–3 mm long, 1 mm diam. Florets usually 2–3. Shrub up to 2 m high with white tomentose branches. Widespread in a variety of open habitats. Fl. chiefly summer.
