Woollsia pungens (Cav.) F.Muell.

Erect shrub up to 2 m high. Leaves crowded, ovate, acuminate, tapering into a rigid point, 6–12 mm long. Flowers axillary, sessile in the axils of the upper leaves. Bracts and sepals imbricate, acute, 8–10 mm long. Corolla tube white or purplish or pinkish, as long as or rather longer than the calyx; lobes contorted in the bud. Fruit a capsule. Widespread. Heath and DSF. Sandy soils. Fl. winter–summer
