Shrubs. Leaves in whorls of 3–4, entire, spreading. Flowers axillary, solitary, sessile or nearly so. Calyx campanulate, 5-toothed. Corolla white to bluish with a short tube and a dilated throat; upper lip erect, flat, broadly 2-lobed; lower lip spreading, 3-lobed. Fertile stamens 2; anthers 1-celled; the 2 lower stamens reduced to staminodes. Style shortly 2-fid. Articles reticulate-rugose.
