Weak, annual herbs, sometimes climbing. Leaves pinnate, ending in a simple or branched tendril; leaflets mucronate; stipules present. Flowers axillary. Calyx 5-toothed. Stamens connate, with the upper one at least partially free. Style bent. Legumes linear or oblong; valves usually twisted spirally after dehiscence. Seeds globular or ovoid.
