Stems pubescent with short crisped hairs arranged in two narrow longitudinal bands with the stem surface between almost quite glabrous. Leaves ovate to lanceolate, serrate with acute teeth. Calyx segments ± obtuse, 4–5 mm long when in flower, enlarging slightly in the fruit. Valleys in the Blue Mts Open forests. Fl. spring–summer
