Ascending, annual herb up to 50 cm high often forming mats. Leaves alternate oblanceolate to spathulate, mostly up to 30 mm long and 5 mm wide. Heads in terminal globular woolly clusters. Involucral bracts in 3–5 rows; the claws purplish; the spreading limb white, obovate, c. 0.5 mm long. Achenes c. 0.5 mm long. Pappus of bristles. Coastal swamps near Sydney, e.g. Maroubra. Introd. from S. Africa. Fl. most of the year. White Cudweed
