Weak, decumbent, annual herb. Leaves orbicular, peltate, spirally arranged; stipules absent. Flowers irregular, bisexual. The anterior sepal spurred. Petals 5, imbricate, bright orange or yellow; the lateral pairs connate at the base. Stamens 8, hypogynous. Ovary 3-locular, superior; ovule 1 per loculus. Fruit a succulent green schizocarp.
