Shrub or small tree. Leaves opposite, narrow-lanceolate to lanceolate, up to 9 cm long. Sepals persistent into fruiting. Petals yellow. Stamens connate in bundles opposite the petals; claw short and irregular. Ovary 3-locular with several ovules per loculus. Fruit a capsule, not exserted beyond the floral tube. Widespread. Usually in creek beds or on the banks. Ss. Fl. summer Water Gum
