Tall shrub with pubescent young branches, monoecious or polygamous. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, 3–8 cm long, scabrous, serrate, dark green on both surfaces or tomentose underneath. Flowers very small in axillary cymes, polygamous with male predominating. Fruit c. 3 mm diam. Widespread. RF and sheltered spots in WS; sometimes a weed in gardens. Native Peach
