Perennial herb c. 30 cm high, with slender wiry stems. Leaves alternate, linear, often more than 25 mm long. Flowers greenish yellow, solitary, on very short peduncles, adnate to the base of the subtending leaf. Perianth c. 2 mm long, cylindrical, 5-lobed; the lobes as long as the tube.
