Leaf bases tapering. Inflorescence branched. Leaves thin, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, toothed or lobed, 2–11 cm long, petiolate. Flowers in loose axillary pedunculate cymes which grade into a narrow terminal panicle, up to 10 flowers per axil. Calyx 3–5 mm long. Corolla white, 8–12 mm long. Ovary hairy. Erect, perennial herb up to 1 m high. Widespread. Open forests in sheltered situations. Fl. summer
