Shrub to 1.5 m high. Leaves opposite, glabrous, narrow ovate to lanceolate up to 11 cm long, c. 2 cm wide, discolorous, apex acuminate. Inflorescence a cymose-panicles in leaf axils. Sepals connate, glandular hairy , reddish. Corolla mauve, 25–35 mm long. Stamens 4, didymous. Fruit a capsule 7–10 mm long, glandular hairy. Blue Mts Introd. from India. Fl. spring–summer. Goldfussia
