Inflorescence loose, branches spreading, most of the axis in the upper half visible at flowering stage. Spikelets 1.5–2 mm long, placed loosely along branches. Leaf blades up to 3 mm wide, usually with ciliate margins. Inflorescence an open panicle up to 50 cm long. Erect tufted perennial up to 1.4 m high. Coast. Open forests. Fl. summer
