Perennial herbs, with corms. Leaves basal, linear, soft, veins prominent. Flowers few, few within scarious-membranous spathes, regular to slightly irregular. Perianth connate, lobes spreading to erect longer than the tube. Style 3-fid, branches entire. Fruit an ovoid, membranous capsule. Seeds numerous and smooth.
