Mature berry red, 15–20 mm diam., with an enlarged ± prickly calyx. Prickles numerous on the stems. Leaves deeply lobed, ovate in outline, up to 14 cm long and 10 cm wide, ± similarly hairy on both surfaces. Corolla white to blue, stellate, 30–50 mm diam. Weed of waste land near Sydney.
