Erect herbs with rhizomes. Leaves linear, basal and cauline. Flowers on slender pedicels, clustered within spathes. Perianth segments yellow or blue to purple, connate basally for a short distance only, subequal. Filaments connate into a membranous tube. Stylar branches filiform, entire. Capsule subglobular.
