Leaves rather thick; the lower ones ovate or oblong; the upper ones narrower. Corolla up to 10 mm diam, white or tinged with pink. Perennial with ± tufted rootstock. Stems usually warty or wrinkled, erect and bearing flowers or arched and stoloniferous or creeping and rooting at the nodes. Coast. Margins of saltmarshes and other sites near the sea.
