Erect, branching, pubescent to hirsute, almost shrubby herbs. Leaves petiolate. Flowers arranged in terminal thyrses or racemes. Calyx 2-lipped, with acute teeth. Corolla 2-lipped; the upper lip convex, erect, 2-lobed; the lower lip spreading, partly reflexed, 3-lobed. Stamens 2; the connective elongated and the posterior cell of each anther absent.
