Minutely hairy, perennial herb 30–60 cm high, with weak straggling branches. Leaves thin, petiolate, ovate to rhomboid, 6–20 mm long. Flowers axillary, solitary on slender reflexed pedicels. Corolla tubular, white, 5–6 mm long. Stamens inserted above the middle of the tube; filaments inserted at the back of each anther. Berry yellow, ovoid, up to 18 mm long. Widespread. Weed in vacant land near habitation. Introd. from S. America. Fl. spring–summer. Pampas Lily-of-the-Valley
