Leaves glabrous or with soft white ± matted hairs, usually once pinnatifid, with sinuately toothed lobes; upper leaves auriculate and stem-clasping. Heads few in terminal corymbose panicles. Involucre c. 4 mm diam.; bracts 14—23. Cypselas 2 mm long. Pappus 6–8 mm long. Erect annual up to 50 cm high. Widespread. Weed of cultivation and waste places. Introd. from Europe. Fl. most of the year. Common Groundsel
