Annual or perennial herb. Leaves opposite, reniform 10–16 cm long, 14–25 cm wide, margins entire to sinuate, petiole c. as long as lamina. cm diam. Inflorescence a terminal raceme 6–20 cm long. Calyx 10–20 mm long, cup-shaped, 5-lobed, split on lower side to base. Corolla 2–5 cm long, cream to reddish-purple, tubular, 2-lipped, unequally 5-lobed. Capsule 8–10 cm long, 1–2 cm wide, horns 10–25 cm long. Introd. from America. Noxious in some areas. Fl. summer–autumn
