*Plantago turrifera
Capsule with a cylindrical truncate beak which is minutely lobed. Leaves basal, pubescent, narrow elliptic 4–10 cm long, 8–25 mm wide, margins irregularly toothed. Scapes 8–20 cm long. Spikes cylindrical, 3–11 cm long, flowers crowded. Sepals 2.8–3.5 mm long. Occasionally naturalized in seasonally moist sites. Introd. from western divisions of NSW Fl. spring–summer
