Shrub with spinose branches. Leaves nearly sessile, ovate to orbicular or obovate to broad-cuneate, 4–12 mm long, entire or with a few prickly teeth. Flowers axillary, solitary, not numerous. Petals white, 4 mm long. Ovary 1-locular. Berry globular, 4–10 mm diam., orange. Rigid, much branched shrub up to 3 m high; Widespread. In or near RF and in shaded places on shales.
