Leaves 3–5 cm wide, mostly 7–12 cm long, strongly reticulate on both surfaces, oblong-elliptic to broad-lanceolate; main lateral veins making an angle of 45–50° with the midvein. Flowers in corymbose cymes, finally loose. Corolla c. 6 mm long, bearded inside to above the middle; lobes scarcely longer than the tube. Fruit hard, 15–20 cm long. Widespread. WSF and RF.
