Palmeria scandens F.Muell.

Tall, woody climber or scrambling shrub. Young branches and leaves ± stellate hairy. Leaves broad-elliptic, 5–12 cm long. Flowers unisexual, in loose axillary racemes. Male floral tube hemispherical, 10 mm diam., with 5 connivent lobes. Anthers numerous, sessile or nearly so. Female floral tube ± globular, 3 mm diam., with a minute orifice. Carpels numerous, glabrous, with filiform styles slightly protruding through the orifice of the floral tube. Floral tube at fruiting stage much enlarged, fleshy, splitting open, 10–20 mm diam.; drupes globular, 5–7 mm diam. Coast and adjacent plateaus. RF. Fl. winter. Anchor Vine
