Omphacomeria acerba (R.Br.) A.DC.

Wiry, dioecious shrub c. 1 m high, usually leafless, with terete striate branches. Flowers minute, unisexual, almost sessile; the males in axillary clusters of 3–5; females solitary. Perianth 4–5-lobed. Ovary inferior. Style very short; stigma 2-lobed. Fruit an ovoid drupe, 6–8 mm long, crowned by the persistent perianth lobes. Blue Mts Forests. Fl. spring–summer.
