Branches hairy. Leaves ovate to ovate-lanceolate, broader towards the base, 6–20 mm long. Whorls 3–8-flowered in leaf axils. Calyx 3–4 mm long; teeth lanceolate, acuminate. Corolla pale purple. Rhizomatous herb forming mats. Widespread. Open forests and grasslands, often on sandy soils. Fl. most of the year
