Capsule 2–5 mm diam., with an undulate orifice ± as wide as the middle of the capsule. Sepals ± persistent in the fruit. Flower spikes up to 4 cm long. Leaves lanceolate to narrow-elliptic, 4–12 mm long. Tall shrub or small tree, up to 5 m high. Coast. Swamps, often on deep sands. Fl. summer
