Perennial herb up 30–80 cm high. Stems thickly covered with white woolly hairs. Leaves petiolate, orbicular, 1–3 cm diam., irregularly crenate, soft, wrinkled, whitish with soft hairs. Flowers in dense axillary verticillate cymes. Calyx 4–5 mm long with 10 subulate recurved teeth. Corolla white, slightly longer than the calyx. Widespread. Weed of waste places.
