Tall trees usually with a smooth pink trunk and branches, except for the rough base. Leaves alternate, crowded at the ends of branches, elliptic, up to 15 cm long. Sepals deciduous. Petals white. Stamens connate in bundles opposite the petals; the claws up to 15 mm long. Ovary 3-locular, with several ovules per loculus. Stigma capitate. Fruit a capsule, not exserteded beyond the floral tube. A native of RF from Bulladelah northwards but planted in streets and gardens and occasionally naturalized around Sydney. Fl. summer. Brush Box
