Leaf tip acute or blunt, usually not curving outwards. Leaves obovate to almost linear, 10–20 mm long, 1–8 mm wide. Flowers up to 15 mm diam. Fruit 3–6 mm diam. Shrub or small tree up to 5 m high, with very flaky bark. Widespread. Heath and DSF. Ss and old sand dunes. Fl. variable
