Leptomeria acida R.Br.

Large shrub up to 3 m high with slender drooping green branches. Minute scale leaves falling off very early but leaving a decurrent notch at the node. Flowers bisexual, minute, yellowish-brown, in lateral spikes 15–20 mm long, each flower subtended by one small bract. Ovary inferior. Fruit drupaceous, 5 mm diam., greenish, succulent, very acid. Widespread. DSF and in more sheltered situations. Fl. summer. Native Currant
