Erect, biennial herbs. Involucre narrow-cylindrical; bracts unequal, herbaceous, imbricate, in 5 rows. Florets all ligulate; rays yellow. Cypselas flattened, obovate-cuneate, striate on both faces, terminating in a long filiform beak. Pappus of numerous silky hairs.
