Nut 0.8–1 mm long yellow-brown to grey-brown. Glume scarcely keeled but concave, green or mostly green or greenish yellow, occasionally some glumes on a plant reddish-brown in places on either side of the centre line but not regularly so. Involucre bract usually only shortly exceeding spikelets. Stamens 3
