Isachne globosa (Thunb.) Kuntze

Spikelets with 2 bisexual florets or with 1 bisexual floret and a male floret below it, awnless, disarticulating above the glumes which fall soon after the florets fall so that the pedicel soon becomes naked. Glumes equal, orbicular, 1–2 mm long. Lemma and palea each 1–2 mm long. Inflorescence an open panicle 8–10 cm long. Perennial with decumbent stems up to 50 cm long, rooting at the lower nodes. Leaf blades narrow-lanceolate, 6–8 cm long, usually c. 5 mm wide, scabrous; ligule of fine hairs. Widespread. In or near water or wet places. Fl. summer. Swamp Millet
