Shrub 100–150 cm high. Leaves 4–10 cm long. Leaflets 11–25, obovate to oblong, 12–40 mm long, glabrous. Stipules lanceolate up to 4 mm long. Flowers numerous, in racemes c. as long as the leaves. Calyx with dark brown hairs 2 mm long, teeth shorter than the tube. Corolla mauve, pinkish or white; standard 6–8 mm long. Widespread. Open forests. Mostly on shales. Fl. spring
