Howittia trilocularis F.Muell.

Erect shrub ± covered with stellate hairs, rusty on the younger parts. Leaves ovate-cordate to ovate-lanceolate, 2–10 cm long, yellowish underneath. Flowers axillary on slender pedicels. Epicalyx absent. Calyx lobes c. 5 mm long. Petals more than twice as long as the calyx, violet. Ovary 3-locular. Fruit a loculicidally dehiscing capsule, shorter than the calyx. Widespread. Open forests. Fl. spring–summer
