Dioecious shrub up to 2 m high with a variable stellate tomentum. Leaves ovate, up to 7 cm long, serrate, acuminate, cordate at the base. Flowers 3–4 mm diam., in axillary panicles. Epicalyx absent. Petals just exceeding the calyx. Ovary 5-locular. Fruit a schizocarp with 1 seed per loculus. Cumberland Plain and Blue Mts Hempbush
