Ultimate segments of the mature fronds pouch-like on the lower surface, with a bar of green tissue across the base except sometimes in sterile fronds, opening with a comparatively narrow aperture. Sori mostly 2-sporangiate. Plants 0.3–2.8 m high. Widespread. Sandstone cliffs; swampy land; ti-tree scrub; RF margins; open forests
