Delicate, glabrous, ± glaucous annuals with weak angular trailing stems. Leaves twice or thrice pinnatisect, basal and alternate. Flowers irregular, arranged in bracteate racemes. Sepals 2, flat, scale-like. Petals connivent, 4, the upper one spurred or pouched. Stamens 6, united into 2 bundles. Ovary superior, 1-locular, with 2 placentas; style filiform, 2-fid. Fruit a nut.
