Eucalyptus fastigata H.Deane & Maiden

Lateral veins very oblique; angle often as small as 10° ( but rarely up to 40°). Umbels often in pairs in the axils, 7–11-flowered; peduncles terete or compressed, 10–18 mm long. Leaves 10–18 x 2–3cm. Tree up to 60 m high. Bark on trunk and larger branches fibrous to stringy, smooth on smaller branches. Operculum hemispherical or conical with a fine beak, c. as long as the floral tube. Fruit conical to pyriform, 6–7 x 6–7 mm, pedicellate; disc conspicuous, flat or domed; valves broad-triangular, exserted. Higher Blue Mts; Illawarra. WSF in deep, especially basaltic, soils.
