Outer stamens fertile; anthers ± globular. Fruits 4–5 mm diam., 5–6 mm long; disc narrow, enclosed in the floral tube; valves enclosed; pedicels of same umbel often of different lengths. Tree up to 30 m high. Leaves 7–12 x 1–2 cm, with finely reticulate venation. Umbels 3–7-flowered, mostly in terminal panicles. Operculum conical or hemispherical. Drier parts of Cumberland Plain; foothills of Blue Mts; Hunter River Valley; Capertee. Usually clay soils. Fl. winter–early summer. Narrow-leaved Ironbark
