Operculum mostly 1.5–2 times as long as the floral tube, usually sharply pointed or beaked. Tree up to 20 m high with wide spreading branches and short bole. Bark dull white, often blotched with yellow or red. Leaves 12–20 x 0.8–1.5 cm. Fruit hemispherical to globular-truncate, 7–8 x 5–6 mm; disc sharp and domed; valves incurved. Along rivers.
