Eriostemon australasius Pers.

Erect shrub up to 2 m high. Leaves alternate, simple, entire, linear to lanceolate, 2–8 cm long, 8–14 mm wide, rather thick, glabrous when mature, greyish-green, 3-veined from base. Flowers axillary. Sepals short, orbicular. Petals pink, 10–15 mm long, 5-veined from base. Stamens 10, free; anther appendage c. an eighth as long as the pollen sac, white, glabrous; filaments hairy. Fruit a schizocarp. Fruiting carpels 5 mm long, truncate. Widespread. Heath and DSF. Sandy soils. Fl. spring. Wax Plant
